Abstract


This paper is establishing a relationship between the performative turn in education science and Rosenzweig´s reflections on the concept of "doctrine". In Die Bauleute and further essays on educational theory Rosenzweig defines "doctrine" as a "power" involving the scholar personally in the movement of tradition, and as vivid event the teacher has to give space to in his educational work. This concept is suitable to deliver a theological foundation to modern ideas of performative religious didactics.
