Editorial Policies

Focus and Scope

This peer-reviewed journal publishes the latest mental health recovery research including reviews, policy, debates, technical and methodological advances, and lessons from the field that will advance and shape the emerging knowledge base of mental health recovery.  We are an open access journal and do not charge article processing fees.  We invite original research, brief reports, perspectives including opinions and viewpoints and letters to the editor. Although we are primarily a theme-based issues journal, we will accept manuscripts at any time on topics related to recovery in mental health.

Peer Review Process

Double-blind peer review for Original Research section manuscripts and Brief Report section manuscripts. Both the author and reviewer identities will be concealed.  Two reviewers are assigned to each manuscript. Reviewers are asked to complete a reviewer form covering scope, objectives, content, organization, methodology, writing style and references.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
